New Photographs from Scotland

We have been very quiet over the last few weeks, but it should change soon. Today I would like to let you know that I just added some new photographs from Scotland into our gallery section here. These photographs represent my selection for our upcoming exhibition Marek and I will have in September this year in Prague.

Title: Imbalance 2, Camera: Mamiya RB 67 Pro SD, Lens: Sekor 50 mm, Film: Kodak T-Max 100, Exposure: 180”, f 16, Harris, Scotland, 2014

I have spent last few weeks with the selection, and I have to say It was really tough job to select only 20 photographs from total of 400 scanned frames I have. Over my two trips to Scotland I took approximately 42 rolls of medium format film. It might sound quite a lot, but I have been experimenting with new techniques and camera possibilities (like the one I mentioned here) and also I used to bracket some of the important shots.

Title: Detail 1, Camera: Mamiya RB 67 Pro SD, Lens: Sekor 90 mm, Film: Kodak T-Max 100, Exposure: 1/60, f 16, Eigg, Scotland, 2013

In the first round I did manage to take it down to 75 photographs. at that point I got bit stuck, and was really struggling to remove some shots which I like but was not able to find a place for them. They were quite strong photographs on its own, but they just totally did not fit into the story i am trying to tell to people who come to visit the exhibition. After two weeks of frustration and tries and failures I managed to finalize it, and I have chosen top 20 photographs plus 5 substitutes divided into three groups according to print size. This week I already started printing in my darkroom and I have to say that the first prints look quite promising.

Just one last remainder, my current exhibition in kavarna Prazirna in Prague is ongoing for next couple of weeks.
